Solo Singing 2010
The annual Solo Singing Competition was held as a lunchtime performance on Friday 5th February. Eight boys took part in the competition and delighted the audience (boys and staff) with very well chosen songs. The boys performed their songs from memory: these were mainly examination pieces ranging from Grade 1 to Grade 5.
We were delighted to welcome Mr. Richard Gobbs, a music teacher from Holme Grange School, to adjudicate. He was very impressed with the standard of singing, the boys' confidence and their connection with the audience. Mr. Gobbs gave some very useful feedback to the performers, before presenting William Kingsley, this year's winner, the cup.
Congratulations to all the boys who took part. It is no easy thing for these chaps to sing to their peers and we were thrilled with their performances. Many thanks to Miss Clay for accompanying and preparing the boys.
Special congratulations to the following:
1st Place: William Kingsley
2nd Place: Henry Wiggin
3rd Place: Jamie Hardy
