Bonfire Night 2011

An excited school gathered on the golf course for the annual Ludgrove Bonfire Night on Saturday November 5th. Sparklers ruled for the first half hour or so: some boys discovered they could make impressive-looking triple-ringed circles in the air if they lit their sparkers in three places at once.
Next came the fireworks - they began slowly but built into a crescendo of shapes and colours accompanied by crackles, fizzes and some enormous bangs that reverberated around the surrounding woods.
The display over, hot dogs appeared like magic from the back of the school car and the bonfire took centre stage as the evening snack was devoured hungrily.
It was a fun, good-spirited evening that everybody enjoyed.

Further pictures of the evening are here.
