Christmas Concert 2011
The evening of Monday 13th December saw the first Christmas Concert that has been held at Ludgrove: a very successful evening it was, too.
There was a mixture of items from Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls played on the Bagpipes to the Brass Group playing A Little Berkshire Suite by James Rae which was written initially for Andy Smets and one of his Berkshire Brass Groups.
Concert Band played Batman then two carols and the String group also performed three carols. The Junior Choir sang Coventry Carol and the Chapel Choir sang two items they will be singing in the Carol Service on Wednesday morning.
There was also an opportunity to hear three compositions from the MTech pupils: Daniyll Kviat's Black Blood; Adam Work & James Woodroffe's Run, Rudolph Rap and Alizhan Aldiyar and Edward Herbert's Eddie & Ali the Elves. They were very entertaining and it was good for the audience to hear the projects the boys have been working on this term.
The evening came to a close with some community singing with Good King Wenceslas, The Twelve Days of Christmas and to finish off We Wish you a Merry Christmas.
Many thanks to all the music staff who take the regular groups and who come in and teach the 170 lessons each week.
