During the course of a couple of hours, one garden was completely transformed from a dead leaf-covered patch of weeds into a completely cleared area with neat sections and newly-planted flowers and fruit - thanks to the Soubras' shopping trip to the nearby garden centre!
Plenty of watering, digging, weeding and wheelbarrow-pushing went on and Charlie acted as gardening ambassador to any visiting parents who wanted to find out more about the boys' activities.
Charles, Byron and Victor all worked tremendously hard all afternoon and even Orlando, a self-professed gardening amateur like Miss Sellon, got very involved in raking and planting and thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon. A visiting Mr Godsal got stuck in with a fork - although Lottie preferrred to play a less active role.
Fantastc progress was made and, judging by this afternoon's efforts, this year's crop of gardeners seems as keen as ever.
Further pictures of the boys' afternoon are here.
