Speeches Competition 2010
At midday on Friday 19th March, the whole school gathered to watch the final of this year's speeches competition. All boys in the the top four years participated in the competition and the finalists had been chosen from a round of heats and semifinals.
Topics ranged from Jack the Ripper to gold, by way of funghi, Chicen Itza and reincarnation, amongst others.
In the junior competition, Luc Trafford was the runner up and Valentine Hutley's speech on tsunami won him the prize.
In the senior competiton, Jasper Leadbeater's speech about East Africa won him the cup.
Judge Mr Browne, father of Hugo and Myles, offered some sensible advice about public speaking and was very complimentary about the standard of the entrants' speeches.
