Supper Night December 2011
Supper night on Tuesday 13th December was a high-spirited affair with plenty of laughter and fun - as well as a delicious traditional Christmas turkey meal followed by a very rich and delicious chocolate yule log. After thanking Gaye, Natalie, the kitchen and pantry staff for their marvellous efforts, the evening's entertainment began.
The fours began the evening with a group of singing elves in coordinating hats. Following this, Mr Evans quizzed his division and Mr Atherton told a tale of The Night Before Christmas at Ludgrove. Division III sang with Mr Busfield and his famous guitar, then Div II put 'Mr Barber' in the spotlight during a special edition of HeadMastermind.
Mr Loup's order-topping boys continued the TV theme and fought head-to-head in a bush-tucker trial from I'm in Remove-Get Me Out of Here!, then Mr Pinchin-Hughes again impressed us with his singing and clever lyrics. Mr Bellingham's division tried to help him get to grips with technology in an amusing skit which involved fruit and some groan-out-loud jokes, then Mr Mawson - against his better judgement - gave a fun adaptation of The Twleve Days of Christmas with a cast of characters from IB.
Finally, Mr Inglis brought out his trusty Welsh accent and castigated the boys of IA before Mr Darling spoke cleverly about letters, including one intercepted from an underground boys' organization whose sole purpose is to incite mischief at school - which the staff found particularly amusing.
Once more, it was a good-humoured evening with many smiles and, following farewells to two gappers, two matrons and bidding a temporary farewell to Mrs Atherton, it was time for bed.
