Each year Ludgrove appoints gappers, young people who are taking a year off between school and university, one of which is often an Old Ludgrovian.  A mix of boys and girls, they work a 12-month placement beginning in January and all applicants must be 18 years old when they arrive at Ludgrove.  

Gappers play an integral part in the school community, supporting all staff in the care of the boys, through a variety of roles and responsibilities, with no two days being the same.  You will spend time on the games pitches, in the classroom, supervising activities and meals, helping with laundry and boarding duties and will also be involved with the preparation of special events such as school plays, concerts and Sports Day.
