Old Ludgrovian Golf DayLinks in this section
Twenty six intrepid Old Ludgrovian golfers assembled at the Berkshire on Sunday on a stunningly sunny day.
A great mixture of age and ability was on show and a few nerves were evident as each player addressed his ball on the formidable first tee on the Blue Course. Seven teams of four were organised with GWPB and Col. Bogey making up the two vacant places. A close fought competition ensued in a Stableford format with two scores from each team counting for each hole. The results were:
1st David Wiggin, James Shaw, Ed Farquhar and Charlie Snow 83 points
2nd Henry Wakefield, Mungo Haldane, and Nico Wiggin 82 points
3rd Richard Barber, Jeremy Cornwallis, Will Tremlett and Hamish Mackenzie 80 points
The individual best score ended in a tie with both Henry Wakefield and Mungo Haldane scoring 37 points. Congratulations to them.
Other players who took part were Micky Wiggin, Max Konig, Ross Jennings, Rory Buchanan, Garth Milne, Sam Elworthy, Sam Barty King, Peter Eckersley, Jeremy Gordon, George Deedes, Ed Jennings, Jos North, Charlie Farquhar, Nick Garrett, Harry Jennings and GWPB.
An excellent day was enjoyed by all and I very much hope that we can persuage other to join us next April.
