Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and experienced Teaching Assistant to help motivate and inspire boys in Years 4-8 to enjoy and value their learning.  The role will involve general classroom support and 1:1 support for individual SEND children as directed by the classroom teacher/SENDCo.  The successful candidate should be prepared to be involved in the extra-curricular activities of the boys.

Required: September 2022

Hours: 8.30/9.00am - 2.30pm, 5 days a week, term time only + inset days

We are looking for someone who:

  • Shows creativity and passion to engage all children in their learning.
  • Has high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
  • Is flexible, adaptable and proactive when working as part of a team.
  • Is committed to supporting children’s well-being and wants to make a difference.
  • Experience of working with children is essential, and experience of working with ASD/ADHD children would be an advantage. 
  • Has experience of successfully running interventions and small teaching groups.

  • To follow the school’s code of conduct and behaviour as laid down in the Staff Handbook and the terms of the signed employment contract.
  • Contribute to and adhere to school policies.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Participate in staff training days, curriculum meetings, open days and parents’ meetings.
  • To undertake a share of duties as may reasonably be requested by the Headmaster.
  • To promote the ethos of the school to pupils, parents and other acquaintances.
  • To promote all aspects of good behaviour and community living within the school in line with the school ethos.
  • To present a smart and professional approach to everything done with the school and in the school’s name in any location.
