Wellesley House Tournament
Links in this sectionOn Monday we trekked to East Kent to take part in the annual Quadrangular Cricket Festival.
Cheam was taken for 133 for 6 from 20 overs with good positive batting and running from Charlie Hope (37) and Dom Chapman (20) on a tricky wicket but lightning outfield. Rory AG had got us to a good start (16). In reply, Cheam managed 100 for 8 aided by Archie Wareing’s miserly figures of 1 for 2 from 3 overs, backed up by Henry Cornell’s 2 for 3 and Charlie Hope’s 3 direct hit run outs.
After lunch we faced Elstree who we restricted to 106 for 8, Wareing again was tricky, 1 for 14 from 4 overs. In reply we scored 108 for 3, all of our batsmen hit double figures. Rory AG starred with 38 and shared a 56 opening partnership with Henry Lawson (17). George Reynolds, Charlie Hope (26 n.o.) and Goodwin (10 n.o. from 6) saw us home to make it 3 in a row for this tournament. The McDonalds incentive had worked a treat.
Well played boys to produce a great end to the season. Archie Wareing rightly was named ‘bowler of the tournament’.
