The audience was astounded by the phenomenally high standards of the performances in the much-loved Poetry Recitation Finals at Ludgrove School.

All boys learnt a poem this term and were then whittled down through the heats to today’s finals. Tasked with the hardest job of the day, Mrs Sykes, Head Teacher at Westende Junior School, Wokingham, and Mr French judged the following as Year Group winners:

Wilf from the VIs with ‘My Best Mate’
Tayte from the IVs with ‘Dog-o-matic’
Angus from the IIIs with ‘The Three Little Pigs’
Ewen from the IIs with ‘The Periodic Table’
Xander from the Top Year with ‘Strict’ - he was also declared overall winner and received the Poetry Recitation Cup.

Huge congratulations to all the finalists in a year when the standards were incredibly high.
