Final of the Speeches Competition

Links in this section

A highlight of the Easter term is the final of the Speeches Competition and this year's culmination of weeks of work didn't fail to deliver an event of the highest standard!

Congratulations to Fergus on winning the Speeches Cup with his delivery on the Vampire Rat (completely fictitious of course) and Ewen, the runner up in the Senior competition with a fascinating explanation of the Kashmir Conflict.

The budding orators in the Juniors were just as impressive, with Hugo pipping first position with his explanation of the chess cheating scandal of Hans Niemann and Monty taking second place with his speech about John Jacob Astor IV.

Well done to all 16 finalists for having the talent and courage to take part in the much loved Ludgrove competition and to Mrs Winkworth for the near impossible job of judging the outstanding entries.
